Hi,
I am considering buying a VT device for myself, but also want to be sure I can use it for my 14 year old daughter who has cerebral palsy. She walks with the aid of a walker, and can't stand upright for any length of time without holding on to someone.
A knowledgeable physician who I trust suggested that she needs to experience "uneven ground" as a way for her to achieve better balance and for walking more upright. She has a tendency to walk with her head down, as it aids her stability. We would like her to learn to walk more upright, as a transition from a walker to canes. He was talking about having her walk in the yard on grass, and on uneven surfaces. But his comment got me thinking about the Galileo platform.
I am interested in knowing how these machines are used with cerebral palsy people, and what frequencies have been tried. She is 14 years old and weighs about 90 pounds.
