Specific Exercise For Damaged Knee

Postby Kim K on Wed Jun 24, 2009 1:50 am

Hi Sasha,

Thought I would post this question in the proper forum in order to help other benefit from your advice!

I appreciate the info on the Proellixe Machine that I tried out. You cannot believe the pain my knees are in right now. I really have no one to blame but myself as I have not had any supervision using it and knee surgery was not that long ago. I have just gotten so frustrated with not being able to walk and told that I would have to wear a hideous leg brace (off loader) basically until I am old enough to have knee replacement surgery. A salon here in Vancouver was advertising the machine and after doing some basic research on the technology seemed like it would be worth a try. At the time I had NO idea that there were other machines even available. I basically just stand on it (as no instruction or direction) and let the program run. More recently, after more research realized that I should not stand on it straight legged so yesterday decided to try and do a basic squat and "skier squat" (backwards) while the program was running and today can barely walk, as my knees are so irritated even the healthier one! The machine has a flimsy handle so did hold on but no real weight put on it and transitioned on it while it was running the program which may have been the biggest problem.

I have now been on it for 3 weeks 5x a week for 10min but couldn't even go today because of my knees. I sure hope I haven't done more damage.

Question? I have about 10 sessions left that I paid for...is there any benefit to my going to them with proper technique the may help my knee? Right now my right Quadricep is approx 1 1/2 inches smaller than the left and even an ems muscle stimulator has a hard time engaging that muscle as it's practically gone, ugh! Could you possibly suggest what would be safe for me to do on the machine (poses or just stand on it?) that may be beneficial for my knee and not damage it? They don't use hz but show levels mine is 2 min on level 7, 6 min on 12 and 2 min on 8 if that helps but they do have different programs or can use it on manual.

Hey KIM!!! :H:

Knee should be treated with a trained phisio first, then home. Usually vibration is done in addition to the phisio training to amplify the results. All phisios should have a medical or serius VT device with them for it is of really great help.

It is great for reducing pain during the muscle flexibility extensions, to enhance the bending, to unstuck the adherence of the tissues, and for the muscle tune improvement. Balance improvement resulting from the 1800 2000 repetitions per minute. A muscle needs around 40000 repetitions to learn his correct movement (herd it from a phisio, this is my personal comment, no study reference, so take as it is: discussion not claiming anything proved)

Galileo: usually you begin with really small magnitude on position 1 at 16hz for 45 60 seconds warming up. You have to see what the doctor said for the weight (20% 50% of the body weight) to know if you can perform in a stand up position or a seated position. Then do a 45second at 18Hz. 45 second rest. 60second at 20Hz. STOP.

The second day rest. Then increase time frequency and repetitions according to you comfort. No pain, if pain: slow down or stop. No more than 6 repetitions on the same muscle group.

WARNING: THIS ARE INDICATIVE INSTRUCTIONS. YOU ARE DOING THIS ON YOUR SOLE RESPONSIBILITY. ASK YOUR DOCTOR FIRST.

Have to write the above, sorry. People (other may read this) sometimes do strange things, without considering real basic precautions, so I don't want to have troubles.

Then: you are telling me real bad experience :sgrunt:

Proellixe is good for a certain drainage work, only.

I will clear this out! Below the effects for the alternate vibe. Uniform vibe has no relation with this, be awared!

Image

Proellixe (I try it) will not produce more than 12 or 14 Hz. It is not a training machine, it is a vibro-massage machine.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE never compare those machines with WBVT vibration training machines mentioned in the medical studies.

Those machines are the source of the alternate vibration bad reputation. While the Alternate vibration is the source of everything and the best ever, if used as it should be used (real vibration training machines) !!!! There is full of 200 300 USD similar machines from China actually.

I tell you what I learned from the pros (I am not a scientist, I am not a doctor, so take my words as talkin' about and not as a sientist statement, OK ?!)

I simply report what they told me:

FIRST! from 10Hz up to 16Hz (circa) you have muscle reaction by proprioceptive system, with central neuronal system involved. No muscle tune improvement. Below 10Hz, let say 6Hz or 8Hz it is the BRAIN that commands the muscles with a lot of effort.

IF YOU STIMULATES THE CENTRAL NEURONAL SYSTEM for more than 3 minutes you will stress your nerves. So avoid to stay more than 3 minutes, continuously on the machine.

You should wait your inflammation vanish, before to make a training session. Which is not possible with Proellixe, so give the remaining sessions to a girl for cellulite temporary reduction, eventually, ok?

I am speaking in a friendly way, ok. I am not criticizing you ;)
I am just angry for there is people more interested to their business than to the customers care. But I can't really blame them for they simply don't know how it works. Maybe they think they have the best machine for they thrust the wrong person.

You should contact the CANADA galileo reps info@motionhealth.ca and ask them where you can find a phisio that can give you the best advise. I would like to do it, but I should have you here for the try and error, to see what is the best way to train you.

I have a Galileo Advanced at home... just to tell you where I spent my money after 3 years of comparing machines...
Need advice for the right vibration training plate for you?
Ask me here or check our reviews.

Using that machine can take you into risk. It is very important to consult a doctor first and ask what are the possible solution to treat the damage of your knee. Don't be reckless as I am only concerned.

Re: Specific Exercise For Damaged Knee

Well, the injury that is causing most of the problem is actually an old one. I was skating with my kids (I was a competition roller skater so I actually can skate) the toe stop on my skate failed and I went down on my knee on a cement floor. It was swollen for about 3 months, but since I didn't break anything, there wasn't much my doctor was willing to do. Ice, heat, meds. That was about it. Now it is giving me more trouble and I don't want to end up with more damage, but I really want to start working out again. It seems to be more stiff and painful if I leave it sit for long periods of time, and when I straighten it out, it pops with a rather loud painful sound. That doesn't actually hurt, but I am sure can't be good. This is mostly with my right knee, the left one is not as bad, but not by much. I know this isn't much to go on, but if you have a specific question as to what the injury was (maybe still is) let me know. I will try to provide all the specifics I can. Thanks for all your suggestions so far. It has been most helpful.

Browns and Falcons still have good news

Postby jersey123 on Mon Jan 02, 2012 3:11 am

The Cleveland Browns is going to play against the Seattle Seahawks, while the Atlanta Falcons will face the Detroit Lions. Both them will be without one each of their biggest weapons. In the Browns, they will not have the running back Peyton Hillis, wearing Stitched NFL Jerseysand having brought new vim and vigor to the Madden Curse. So, it should be a great loss for Cleveland Brown that is now playing with low scores.
Meanwhile, the rookie reciver Julio Jones will not wear Stitched Jerseys and play for the Atlanta Falcons. After all, Julio Jones is a dynamic wide receiver, and is competitive with potentials as a rookie.
But there is still some good news for both Cleveland and Atlanta. For the Browns, Joe Haden Browns jersey will appear in the field, as Haden is still active. The Atlanta Falcons will release their defensive end John Abraham, wearing Stitched Jerseys no more. Therefore, both teams still have something to compete this week.
